Man, 25, jailed for Class A drugs offences after ‘large quantity’ was found in his BMW travelling in Northampton

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for Class A drugs offences after a “large quantity” was found in his BMW, say police. At around 5pm on July 13 last year, Rene Ross, previously of Falcon Crescent, Wolverton, was stopped in Colwyn Road, Northampton, in a black BMW, a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said.

A positive step forward has been made as 25 electronic road signs across West Northamptonshire will display anti-littering messages until the end of May. Using electronic road signs to display encouraging messages is something the Northants Litter Wombles first brought to the attention of West Northamptonshire Council in March last year.

A window cleaner has been jailed for more than two years after he stole designer goods from a Northampton home. Northamptonshire Police said that between 10am and 11.30am on February 23, 38-year-old Kieron Stuart Robert Long, of no fixed abode, arrived at a property in Scully Close to clean the windows.

The incident happened on Wednesday (April 17) in Park Road, between 5.55pm and 7.05pm, when the man was tricked into letting a man into his home after he made claims that his guttering needed repairs.

‘Enough is enough’: Bereaved parents demand government action on young driver deaths from crashes

A group of 40 bereaved parents are demanding immediate action to tackle the “unacceptable and disproportionately high” number of young driver and passenger deaths on UK roads. The parents, whose children were all killed by cars driven by young drivers, have formed a campaign group called ‘Forget-me-not Families Uniting’ – and they are calling on the government to save young lives.

Three men, aged 19, 21 and 31, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries after a 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with “serious head injuries” following a serious town centre assault. The three men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) after officers from Northamptonshire Police were called to reports of a fight in Gold Street at around 5.45am on Saturday morning (April 13).
